 So, I'm saying, you aren't a total nut-job.  Even if you really do know day by day your food and nutrient intake, which I gotta say wigs me out a bit.

There's been articles that show that tracking what you eat will have an impact on the number of calories you consume. 
I go through periods where I religiously track my food (at fitday.com) and times where I am rather lacksadasical about it.
