I've also found it sad to see the decline from a-list glory to d-list has-been status. It's inevitably accompanied by the cycle downward from designer drugs to cheap street smack, from Moet to Malt Liquor, and from cover girls to leathery skinned cougars twice their age. I often wonder how many of the a listers from times past no longer post here out of shame for what they've become.
Some hold up - dtb still has her grammar, even if she's now living in an Appalachain cabin and for fun taking her enormous and constantly expanding brood of rug rats to the auto races to watch her old man and his buddies drinking in their wife-beaters, so she'll always be our classy Lauren Bacall type, some hide the decline well, but you, you keep coming back, not hiding a thing, knowing there's still a place for you, even if you can now only say that you "were" Penske, back when there was a Penske.

For the most part, I blame the ascendancy to partnership, which condition was further exacerbated by the move to the corner office with the wine bar and bidet. Otoh, I think the bidet has moderated P's politics.
