 When I first did traditional Chinese medicine -- really traditional, with the "raw" herbs that you had to boil and drink (including lovely stuff like deer tendon) -- I followed the instructions rigorously.  This was because I was still very fucked up from a car accident and desperate to have my leg heal to avoid further surgeries.
Except, I ignored the rule that said "no sex during treatment."  Or, more accurately, I interpreted "treatment" as "when the needles are actually in you."  Not once did I have sex while there were needles still in me.
