Dear NFH:
Based on your posting record, I am sorry to hear that you might be considering the Garden State as your future home. Please allow me to make a cautionary warning to you. While New Jersey has many unique and diverse qualities, to be honest, we are filled up and not interested in any more residents.
Further, think of these things before you darken our doorstep:
There are far more interesting places to live in the same general area of the country than anywhere within New Jersey, for example, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington.
Its pretty crowded already in New Jersey and your presence won’t help matters.
Relative to its size New Jersey has more paved area than any other state in the country, all at the expense of natural environs, like parks and wilderness.
With all of the cars on our 4 major interstate highways and two of the nation's busiest airports, including the rapidly expanding monstrosity known as Atlantic City International, we have lots of noise and fossil fuel exhaust pollution. And our waters are polluted, too.
In comparison to dynamic areas of the country, industry in New Jersey remains mired in a post industrial slump, I mean you ever heard of Silicon Garden? Nuff said.
New Jersey smells bad.
So please, as you are Not From Here let's keep it that way and don’t move here or even come visit me.
For our relationship let’s use the phrase, “New Jersey and you, perfect far apart”.
Yours truly,
New Jersey
ps: Hi SEC, we still have a place reserved for you.
