 We've had feral hog problems for decades. They will destroy acres of good pasture in just a few months. You may want to be a bit more active in dealing with them or they will set up camp and stay. 
Choose your weapon carefully. Those things don't drop easily and they tend to get mad when shot.
For as long as I can remember they are the only justification for keeping a gun in the truck at all times. Snakes are a necessary part of the ecosystem, in most cases. Javelina are OK if smoked long enough, but are a bit lean for sausage. Everything else you may want to shoot has a season. Feral hogs are a nuisance and our neighbors would consider us  negligent if if we didn't keep them at bay.
