slow cooker redux

I made a meatloaf yesterday in the crockpot that turned out quite yummy. However I have my first Big Crockpot Question. I'm using a cookbook that contains recipes for different sized cookers. I have a 4 quart one. This is the second recipe that I've adapted from a 5-6 quart recommendation and while the proportions have worked out fine, I'm totally confused about how much to adjust the cooking times. Clearly things are cooking faster in the 4 quart pot. Is this something I just need to monitor closely or is there someone here who has experience with this and can recommend how much faster I should be checking to make sure all my meat isn't totally overcooked?? TIA.
