I briefly considered this notion. Then I concluded that I'd like to spend at least one night in the nice new house we're building wayout on the prairie.
In any event, the more I ponder this, the more I conclude that she is just trying to get out of going. She's never been terribly excited about social events. I think she'll cling to any reason not to go, because I've tried most of the suggestions you've offered up
