There is at least one lawsuit over a fake posting to a cite like this involving a third rate celebrity, so it is certainly possible that this is the case here.

The good news, at least in the Nnth Circuit, is that services providers (defined in such a way that it would clearly include lawtalkers) are not responsible for the statements posted by their users, even if they choose to monitor and have the right to edit.
