I will get (sort of) dressed up, at least sort of gothy, and be at an adult party. (After appropriately memorializing the passing of the Ivy King into the underworld by extinguishing my fires to be relit in the new year, of course.) I will not dress to kink, but I have certainly seen it done.
A sexy pirate is a woman in skin-tight breeches or mini and thigh-high boots in a poufy-sleeved pirate shirt laced up the front but opened very low under a tight vest, with big hoop earrings and a sword tied on and maybe an eyepatch and headscarf, or maybe a parrot on her shoulder if she can find one.
Also on the "sexy" costume list: french maids, nurses, cops, etc.
