By coincidence, I ran into my biking friend who does this race (and is quoted a lot in this article:
http://www.startribune.com/local/115386834.html) last night in . . . wait for it . . . spin class! He told us more about his year's race. I wouldn't say that it has zero appeal for me, but the number quantifying the appeal for me is quickly approaching zero. But despite getting lost and having to go for help to rescue a hypothermic racer, he finished in about 27 hours. The weird thing is, he looks like a surfer.
