 Seriously.
Maybe you just don't have enough choices out there -- it seems like Nordstrom's and Sears are the only places that sell suits in the Midwest?
Around here, if you want to be all like, "sure, I have the money and could spring for a good suit, but the nice ones aren't in the pattern I like, plus I'm frugal and come from hardy working-class stock" and whatever other shit you say to convince yourself you're not just a tight bastard, you can go to Century 21 and dig through the racks. You'll get no attitude from the salespeople there, because (a) good luck finding one and (2) they know they're working in a glorified flea market and the fact that they hate you is a given.
But if you want your ass kissed like it should be when you're spending a grand on a suit, you can go to Bergdorf and act like a big shot. I did it once, and my dry cleaning lady has looked at me with new eyes ever since.
Someone will be along shortly to talk about getting suits handmade by some itinerant guy from Hong Kong, and I'm sure that's great, but we're busy men, right?
