Sorry. I think the idea of being uncomfortable with a woman doctor is a bit unusual; many women seem to prefer female gynecologists because they think they know the equipment better and can be more empathetic. I don't have a strong gender preference because I've had great male gynos and mediocre female gynos, but the only truly awful experiences I've had have been with male gynos, and the only condescending asshole doctors I've dealt with in my life have been men, too. So, since a condescending or unsympathetic gynecologist is about the most odious creature on earth, if I don't have anything else to go on (such as a personal reference or another doctor's referral), if I need a new gyno (which seems to happen every year or two), I look for a woman a few years out of her residency who has joined a long-standing practice.
And my current gyno is a very hot asian woman. Grrowwll.
