The Bay Area is deeply spoiled for food and wine. Your decent is anyone else's great.
One of the things I like about where I live now is that my kids are hanging out with kids of people who think, not the mid-level corporate toadies who fill Westchester county, for example. That's the benefit of techies and academics to a place to live, they both just think a bit more than most of the world.
Now if I could just find a way to get some artists to move in ...
