Not just 10,000 feet — according to the New York Post, it was six bodies at 10,830 feet, which happens to be EXACTLY 3,300 meters!
(I’m a connoisseur of rough estimations in international news coverage with overly precise unit conversions. My favorite example was when our media reported that a man was gored at the running of the bulls at San Fermín and had suffered a “2.54 centimeter” puncture wound. Which happily corresponds with EXACTLY an inch. Either that or the Spaniards have made a quantum leap forward in wound depth measurement precision, with TBD practical benefits.)
