Yes -- I remember the book part. Doesn't he have to give some kind of presentation in class or something, and takes a book to the front of the room? (I may be conflating the book with an after-school special...)

This just made me LOL because I was reminded of the time in 8th grade when the class assignment was to select a book and then deliver an oral report to the class on our chosen book (this was an "Honors" English class -- so I suppose the teacher, mistakenly and to her cost, thought this meant we could be trusted to choose our own reading material). I know you can guess the punchline, but yes folks, I chose Princess Daisy.
I can still remember the look on my teacher's face as I gave my report -- as though she had just bit into something, um..., disagreeable.
Please, no one report me to JASNA...
