I’m grateful to Jack Daniel’s for producing the minor plot point in “Scent of a Woman” that alerted me to the fact that I was watching a very shitty movie. The title should have warned me; the premise should have warned me, but it was Pacino uttering the line that it’s John Daniel’s to someone who’s known him as long as he has that prepared me for the masturbatory shitshow courtroom scene that won Pacino his only Oscar.
