My family’s glamorous lifestyle has meant that we have been frequent flyers at a local head lice comb-out salon. It’s a posh chain, and some of the twentysomethings who do this work had previously worked out of the LA store. They coyly hinted that they had picked lice eggs off the heads of Hollywood royalty, but that nitpicker-client confidentiality precluded them from naming names.
First I wondered if that was just a cheap way to buy credibility by name-dropping without name-dropping. Then I wondered if I would have had the fortitude to keep it to myself that I had touched Katie Holmes’s hair.
