O.K., so I don't really listen to Top 40 pop, except involuntarily while stationary bicycling. But I saw Kanye's interview, so I watched the Flawless video a couple of times. All I can really say is I don't really like pop and therefore am not really in a position to evaluate the merits. I actually thought the song was kind of boring. But, honestly, I can barely distinguish Beyonce from Rihanna from Lady Gaga. For those who appreciate this music more and can better judge the artistry of Beyonce v. Beck, does Kanye have a point? Was it disrespectful to give the award to Beck? I love Beck, but don't like his latest (not crazy about Sad Beck) so I don't have an emotional dog in this fight. Or is Kanye just a deranged agitator? Or brilliant propagandist? Or both?

The Grammys: a celebration of awful bubblegum pop entertainers that for some reason thinks it needs to occasionally reward actual artists* who hit their peak 20 years ago.
*actual musicians who write, play and sing their own music. As opposed to entertainers.
