There is a difference between being a German actor and making a living on your accent. If you use it to get roles, that's one thing. If you accentuate aspects of it as a cutesy part of your character instead of actually acting (see: Matthew McConaughey falling somewhere on the Southern weed head spectrum in every single role he plays), then you're playing a German-type.
