It isn't that we missed it. It is that there is no point in discussing it when the bulk of the conversation is simple race baiting.
The self hatred a lot of minorities feel is often as destructive if not more so than that of the larger society. Of course, that self hatred comes from the way society treats them in the first place.
And I also agree with TM, having engaged in similar conversations myself on the subject of self hatred, they aren't easy conversations, get very personal, and are often better held face to face.
