There is a thread about whether runners should be wearing masks. Mind you this is a single family home community. I ran today and was not within 10 yards of anyone the whole time. But one poster explained "if you are out without gloves and a mask and you get the virus on your hands and then you touch a fence, and then someone else touches the fence in the same place, you've spread it." Lady might have a PhD in virology for all I know, but she doesn't understand running and the typical occurrence of a need to touch fences. I will say, that we all do agree this fence touching is wrong though.

I tried wearing a mask when out walking, but my glasses fog up. I just stay extra far away from people and don't touch anything. Were I in NYC, I'd just walk around blind-ish, I guess.
Also staying away from parks, even though there a lake with nice paths around us a block over. Too many people, some of them too close together.
I'm not sure why your virology lady thinks gloves matter, although I do wear them at the grocery store.
