 The older Laphroigs get even more mellow; you may know it was made with a lot of peat, but what's left are little wisps of flavor that really taste nothing like the young smoky peat. Sebby's right, there is a sweet taste in it, like a rum, but way more subtle.
 
 I'm still mourning the lack of easy accessible single malt Japanese scotches, though. When my chemo's done, I just may spring for one of the really crazy expensive remaining bottles.
 |  I am partial to Jura.  Won a free trip there and had the factory for a private tasting.  Some of my favorites were the least peaty.
