Well, yeah.

I'm not talking about trustafarians. Shit then we'd all be Paris Hilton. I'd do that in a heartbeat. I've got a ton of friends who would love for me to fly them around and spends lots of money.
I'm not necessarily talking about enough $$ to seriously jet-set, I'm just talking about enough that you never have to think "gee, I'd be more secure if I'd just top that up a little bit more" or "Will my kids be able to have this same lifestyle, too, or will they have to have day jobs to have it? Grandkids?" Most trustafarians aren't the Hiltons.

If you NEVER worked in your life ever, think about it for whatever reason, you don't think you've missed out on anything? You've never met anyone at work that you consider to be a friend?
Sure (some of whom I've met through this board, in fact). But I've effectively lost a lot more because I don't have enough time to nurture the relationship beyond some half-hearted "how are you doing? We really need to get together" e-mails a couple times a month. And I'd say, honestly, that I've lost most of the friends I had who aren't in a similar line of work, and I am vastly poorer for it. Is it all the fault of having a job? Of course not, but I don't think work has led to a net increase in the diversity, interest and quantity of my friends. Sometimes a drink or dinner a couple times a year is enough, sometimes when you finally get together for that drink you discover that you have become total strangers.

We were talking about a woman who was proud that she had NEVER held a job. A person that goes around saying that is NOT going to volunteer at the soup kitchen.
Quite possibly. That's a problem with her, not with the condition of never having had a job.
