This is pretty normal -- and is what I dislike the most about being a lawyer.* No one told me when I signed up for law school that my job would be "asshole for hire." Lest one think me too Sebastianish, I did take matters into my own hands and got a new job that does not require this nearly so much, and even when it does, I just call in the guy two doors down to be the designated bad cop - he seems to like it. Sometime, though, you've just got to do it.
*I'm actually coming to grips with being a lawyer and now think it's not half bad. Two years ago, I hated it with the fire of a thousand angry suns. A change of scenery can do wonders sometimes.
