Another example of poor research by "The O.C." staff... In one of the early episodes, Jimmy is on the couch watching TV and his wife comes in and asks what he is watching. He says he's watching the 1986 Finals on ESPN Classic between the Lakers and Pistons. Any fan at a sports bar will tell you that the '86 NBA Finals were between the Rockets and Celtics. The Lakers and Pistons didn't meet in the Finals until 1988 (Lakers won), and again in '89, the series which launched the Bad Boys dynasty.

Why would you bother to make such a reference if you don't check your facts? Fox must have like a million writers on staff, and they obviously aren't busy working on plotlines for this show.
However, they did have that priceless line last night: "Get yourself some funnier friends." Or however it was worded. Anyone have a photographic memory for this sort of thing? It might make an appearance as a str8 sig line one of these days.
