Sam really went off the deep end. All the quarterback/coach stuff was insipid. I hate it when people try to inject sports analogies into business when they're not appropriate. A comment about an option offense (go with one plan and see how it works, but have an alternate plan) works, but shut up about ineligible receivers downfield and stuff like that.
I'm guessing that there has to be some provision prohibiting them from saying "Look, store owner. You're going to get your store on NBC in primetime, on a show with Donald Trump that will be seen by 20 MM people. You can give me this item for next to nothing, and lose money on this transaction, but every person who wants to buy this kind of stuff anywhere in NYC will come to you, because they saw you sell it for a great price on tv. And you will get tons of business." or they would all have done it. Or at least they should have.
The guys didn't have a chance on the first one. They did a passable job on the second one, but it was kind of dry and weak. They might not have had a chance on this one, because of the sex appeal thing, but it wasn't even close because they planned so badly and sucked so much.
It looks like the female executive calls them out on slutting around in the next episode, which I think is good. It's getting kind of tiresome. Especially that one whorey chick (Heidi?) who just goes around sticking her breasts out.
