Hitler was nothing if not frugal (this making his hatred of the choosen people all the more bizarre). In 1943, despite advice from at least some of the procurement people in the Wehrmarct, he advanced purchased unis on a 10% increase basis per decade for the next 75 years, saving 10% in cost. The results can be seen at Army Navy stores to this day, and through our childrens "rebellious periods."
