The doctor we spoke to when my wife went off the pill said the opposite. After looking into it a bit, it looks like it could go either way.
"Having unprotected sex right after going off the pill increases your chances of getting pregnant, and many feel it may even increase the chances of twins, as your body tends to overreact with a jump start.
Sometimes, though, there are cases in which the opposite happens -- post-pill amenorrhea, in which there's an actual delay in cycling.
Either could happen, of course."

She gives husband the news, stops the pill, thinks maybe I shouldn't get pregnant before husband lets me know whether he's changed his mind, but what are the odds anyway, and even if I did, he loves me and I'm sure he'll be happy once he sees the baby's face, etc.
