And now for something completely different.
As an aside, I have snowboarded on Mauna Kea in Hawaii, which was totally intense. Not much snowcover, and it is a volcanic mountain with all sorts of jagged rocks to avoid. You have to drive nearly all the way to the summit (almost 14,000 ft), and you have to take turns serving as the "chair lift" waiting at the bottom in the truck.
Highly recommended if you want to add a little thrill seeking to your tropical vacation. Just remember to sport some massive SPF on your face!
