Face it junkie, the real reason you hate PP is that she's hot. And the soy made her that way.

Oh wow. That is great! Now that is the kind of nice, going the extra-mile gesture that deserves something nice in return. A drink? A (non-recorded) flash of my tits?

(Barely deserves something nice too, but I'm not sure a flash of my tits would work for her. Of course, I have no idea of my ratio, so the sight of my tits could inspire massive gagging. Forgot to take your Xanax with your soy grits this morning? It tastes disgusting in virtually every permutation I have health-conciously tried it in. If I'll die a little earlier at least I won't die having gacked down 10 years' worth of horrible meals.
This was a comment about *food preferences*, not a suggestion that we should euthanize people people who eat veggie burgers. WTF?

I just resent that someone would call the love of soy a trend. I am not seriously pissed. I was just mocking the ignorance of it all. And I dont hate you. In fact, from your posts, I think we have a lot in commong (except I am not a meat eating purse freak),. If you reall ywant to incorporate soy into your diet in a way other than pills (and the doc has my mom on soy supplements bc she is showing the beginning signs of osteoporosis fwiw), try this for breakfast (assuming you are like JustForFun and work out and have a nice body):

4 to 8 ozs fresh oj
4 to 8 ozs vanilla soy mils
4 egg whites
a half cup of strawberries
a half cup of blueberries
a kiwi
a bananan.

mix in a blender. voila, all your fruit for the day,. a ton of protein, and its delish!

I also recommend Amy's frozen Soy Cheeze pizzas from Whole Foods. Throw on some spinach, garlic cloves, drizzle with olive oil and roast. Deliscious.

Did I mention that I have a nice body and that is why everyone at work is so bitchy to me?Back to top

Did someone say hot, firm body? You know the problem here isn't that women are enraged by the hot, firm, body with the robust puppies. Nor are they jealous of it. Oh no.

The problem is that the women are lesbians and they WANT the hot, firm body with the robust puppies. However, they have learned, as I have over the years, that a straight woman, is well, straight, and unless you get her really drunk, you won't be getting that particular hot, firm body.

It just enrages you. I bet the men can understand.

So before you wear that fuck me dress you might want to remember, you don't just run a risk of men throwing you over the desk. Rampaging democratic lesbians (ah where is Temp Sock when you need him) might darn well do the same thing.Back to top

While a few women (and men) do act like bitches because they're competitive about looks, has it occurred to you that some of the animosity may simply be personal--they think you think too much of yourself and your bod and find that quality, not your fit bod, offensive?

I admire women who work out consistently and look great, but am annoyed by those who constantly smirk over their superiority for eating nutritionally perfect salads and the disgusting soy-trend-of-the-moment. My guess is these bitter women (and men, when they do it) take as little sensual pleasure in the rest of their lives as they do in their food--definitely a turnoff.

I return from a long weekend to find a good old-fashioned pile on. Woo hoo! Good points by RP, the Paigow and (as quoted) PJ. JFF, welcome to the FB. We don't mind if you wear revealing clothes or have a snarky attitude, but never wear revaling clothes while having a snarky attitude...

My mother called last night to say she had uncovered a document from her past: a typewritten lyric sheet from the Ancient Order of the Hibernians in America.

So last night, she sang the old songs and we told really bad Irish jokes.

If only we'd had Rory's great Irish coffee, the night would have been complete.

Happy St. Pat's, everyone.Back to top

Well, you know, if your puppies are that robust...

Of course they do AoN. And they are similarly successful. They also ask if I "come here often" (the smart ones do a sort of a stretching out of the word come making it clear what they mean) others ask if we have met before. I also did have someone tell me I had nice pants, she would look good in them, but fortunately, she was joking.Back to top

Okay, I think I figured out who this is. (Check your email to confirm.) If it is who I think it is, than I will vouch that you are up there on the prettiness scale, although I have only seen you fully clothed--except in my imagination where you are always completely naked except for the pitchers of beer that you are holding. FWIW, the attorneys in your city tend to be prettier than the attorneys in other cities though. But I am clearly referring to median prettiness because mean prettiness in minnesota is skewed by an outlier who is very pretty, but tends to be a little too prancey about it.

Like the Princess Bride reference, TM.

I think similar studies have shown the same result for other life changing events whether positive or negative; e.g. winning the lottery or suffering a debilitating injury. In most cases, people return to the same level of happiness within about a year.

The idea is that people have a set point for happiness, much like they do for weight, and that a single event, no matter how life-altering, rarely changes it. This must explain people like Christopher Reeve and Michael J. Fox on the one hand, and Ben Affleck on the other.

In court this morning, I saw an astonishing number of (not the height of fashion, shall we say) green suits, silly green ties, etc., which despite the generally non-fashionable look, was pretty jolly and made me smile, especially since the judge was such a beeyotch today.

How many of you wore some green today?

"Bring your daughters to work" day is now "Bring your daughters and sons to work" day? I've been told that NOW has changed this nationally.

Why?

Have parents actually been complaining to such an extent that NOW felt pressure to change it? If so, why can't people understand that just because someone else is getting something doesn't mean that that something is being taken away from them. Especially when they already have it in spades (in other ways).

Or is it because NOW wanted to be consistent because of the Augusta issue? If so, then I've lost a lot of respect for them. The whole point of Take your daughters to work day was to expose little girls to jobs that they should naturally feel like they are capable of performing. It was meant to remedy societal pressures on girls to not pursue careers. What is the point of it if now little boys can do it to?

Do little boys tend to be more aggressive than little girls? If so, will this affect the dynamic of whatever little projects they work on that day?

Can someone tell me why this was changed?

We always had "bring your children to work day." People bring boys and girls. The boys tend to run around more I have noticed, the girls tend to sit down and work on things.

I don't know what NOW's motivation was, but it could well simply have been an effort to reflect how most companies are actually implementing it. Or it could have been a very PC thing. You never know.Back to top
