Job Description The Appeals Department of the Texas Workforce Commission is currently recruiting attorneys with Texas law licenses for Temporary Hearings Officer positions to be located in Austin and Dallas. These positions are available immediately. The work involves forty (40) hours per week as a Hearing Officer III at a starting salary of $2,749.00 - $4,241.25 per month. Hearing officers conduct hearings (usually telephone conference hearings) and issue written decisions in appeals regarding unemployment insurance benefit entitlement and potential employer tax liability. All hearing officers must be available for some reimbursable overnight travel, although the need for such travel is very rare.
