I know I'm a little late to this game, but here goes...
Movies I can't turn off: I second all the Princess Bride nominations. Also, Moonstruck, Groundhog Day, Sixteen Candles, Clueless, Casablanca, and A Patch of Blue.
Actors who play the same damn role every time: Sandra Bullock, Freddie Prinze, Jr.

He's 35 and single -- and, given his behavior, he has serious commitment issues. He seems to be pulling back as fast as he can.
The Jennifer girl with Xavier ("Frenchie") is such a bitch, especially with the faces she makes. No doubt why she is single.
The person I felt sorriest for was Matt. Good thing he gets to go home now. Do you think his people picked Cortes to be mean?
Ooh. I forgot that was on last night. What with the Pres speach and all I stayed away from the network programming. Will try to remember next week (if it isn't preempted by war).
I did watch the RW/RR Battle of the Sexes tho. I think I'm the only one here who watches, so no need to discuss with myself...

Love the ditty, Not Bob, and not merely because I know the melody. (These kids with their music these days, I can't tell one song from another!)
As for movies I can't turn off, in no particular order:
1. Bull Durham (although in most other movies both Sarandon and Costner irritate the crap out of me)
2. When Harry Met Sally
3. Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid (Paul Newman -- mmm!)
4. Pride & Prejudice (the A&E Version, Colin Firth, hummana hummana)
5. The Sound of Music (yes, I am a sap)
6. Sophie's Choice (see 5, and a good cry now and then really is cathartic)
7. The Big Chill
8. Princess Bride (along with everyone else, I see), and
9. Clueless ("I've got a 45 and a shovel!")
10. Moonstruck, notwithstanding a general dislike of all things Cher
There'a line in Moonstruck, spoken by the great Olympia Dukakis, that came to mind during JFF's incessant posts on aging well, which got me to thinking about fear of aging and fear of death. "No matter what you do, you're still gonna die."

I forgot to mention High Fidelity and Say Anything, although I agree that while lovable, John Cusack generally plays the same character (Being John Malkovich was a little bit off the usual path, but not much, and probably only b/c he looked grungy).Back to top

Don't delete. Move it to politics and leave a message that you can find the post there. There will be some posting about world events on the FB, so we need to keep it open. But a screed is unnecessary and divisive.Back to top

I found an old cassette wedged under my car seat today.
Do any of you Texans remember a band from like 1983 called the Judy's? Their album Washarama was pure genius.
I also heard Michael Jackson's Wanna Be Starting Something on the radio today and was reminded of how good he was back in 1983, and before he went completely off the fucking deep end.

Now I feel bad, but I was 9 or 10 and just not into the local music scene at the time, as you might imagine. In fact the only thing I was listening to were my ABBA and Billy Joel tapes (go ahead, laugh). I didn't even own a radio. Oh, and my mom's old Gerry Rafferty album on vinyl - loved that!
Are you on leave this week? Or as we joke here - "baby vacation?"

That's the plan anyway. Every day I work beofre her arrival is a day I can take off once she's here. (Brazenette countdown= T-7 days and counting).
On an unrelated note: Has anyone seen the Complaint in the Elizabeth Smart case? It's chilling stuff. Read it here:

On another unrelated note: I forgot to add The Breakfast Club to my list of movies I can watch ad naseum. No movie has more quoteable quotes.

I had no idea what the fuck you were talking about (as usual) until I noticed the line underneath my name. Those are stupid. Can we lose them?
Speaking of things that are stupid, what is with all of the quotes in the signature lines? Does anyone think people read them more than once? If not, why post it more than once? Are they supposed to neatly sum up who you are?
