I'm not sure many movie critics would agree with my taste in movies. For example, next on my list at the moment is Old School (anyone see it yet?). I did see the Two Towers. It was very good. Especially the parts with Gollum.

Old School was *very* funny. I'm not a huge Will Farrell fan, but he was very good (he was especially funny in the "couples counseling" scene). Even Mrs. Not Bob thought this movie was funny, and she is not usually a fan of sophomoric humor.

And yes, I'm calling you a Methodist.

Firstly, I am no methodist. I have never even tried methodism, except for that one time college, but it was at a frat party and I was curious and all the pledges had to do it anyway so I don't even think that counts.

Secondly, I didn't say anything about the picture because I was too moved by her crayon drawing of the US flag to be able to mock her properly. No one draws that poorly unless they are a mental defective, and I usually pity mental defectives--unless they do something funny like trying to stop a bulldozer with their faces, in which case I laugh. She is so defective that despite living 23 years in the birthplace of democracy she doesn't even realize that she is holding the flag upside down while she is burning it. That is why the kid in the left hand corner is laughing and that is why this sad defective died alone. She probably said "let's lie down in front of this tractor and stop it with our faces". A kindly palestinian probably wiped the drool from her mouth and said "okay Rachel...you first. Good job Rachel!!! We are all winners here, Goood Job!!!" It was probably the last thing she heard, except for possibly somesort of muffled crunchy sound.

At any rate, you can see why I was so moved by her plight. I find it almost impossible to laugh at her, except that I can laugh at anyone--especially when they try to stop heavy machinery with their face.

Of the movies nominated for best picture, I have seen Chicago, The Hours and Lord of the Rings the Two Towers. I'd guess that the Hours will win, though my favorite was LOTR. I'm dragging myself to see Gangs of New York later on this week so I can scoff at whatever awards it brings home (Daniel Day Lewis, excluded). I understand that it may be this year's Titanic.

Of the other various categories that have been nominated I have seen Catch Me if You Can, Adaptation, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, About a Boy, Spider Man, SWII:AotC, Minority Report, Bowling for Columbine, Ice Age, Unfaithful, and The Quiet American.

I liked generally all of them, except Ice Age, though some more than others. I'd see Unfaithful and Adaptation again. I really liked Catch Me if You Can.Back to top

I just realized that I think I've only seen Spiderman and Minority Report this year. I seriously cannot think of one other fucking movie I've seen. Oh wait, were Black Hawk Down and We Were Soldiers Once this year?

I used to use methodism, but it was only to get over my heroism addiction.

Where would award shows be without fashion...and where would fashion be without proper accessorizing...bringing me back to the matter at hand. HANDBAGS! Help a sista' out. I'm mean what's a girl gotta do to provoke a good old-fashioned swap of handbag stories. Sheesh!

I just need, say, five people to post what purse-like conveyance they use to bring all their lawerly trappings into work each day and I will be satisfied, e.g., "Tod's 2-handle leather tote."

I hate to interupt the Oscar buzz, but I've got an itch to buy and no direction.

I use a Hermes Birkin, but that's only for the weekends when I celebrate my inner chick.

For ideas about handbags for work, I suggest that you say "pursejunkie!" quickly three times, and maybe she will come by to help you out.

OK, if it'll shut you up. I carry a Coach neoprene tote from like four years ago for all my "tote-able goods", and I am currently carrying a tan and black animal print with burgundy lining Kate Spade square bucket bag for a handbag.

If you go back several days, you'll see that there is a patent Louis Vuitton bag in lavendar that I am currently lusting for...

I can never resist the imploriing of a newbie, until she starts talking about her body.

For work purposes, I carry a black gucci bag. It's a slim rectangle, almost a tote. I can actually fit contracts, my cell, and my palm in it without it looking too bulky.Back to top

Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Contrary to what may be popular belief I'm not a shill for Prada, and they may have what you want. I was in there the other day admiring the schwag (nothing with logos, though), and they had stuff meeting all your requirements.

Also try Bottega Veneta.

Better yet, figure out what not-current-season Prada or other bag suits your purposes, then look for it on eBay. The deals on new stuff can be mind-boggling. (eBay has good baguettes, too.)Back to top

Focus? Are you joking?

Ok, lets see. When I am carrying a handbag for day to day use, I use one of two colours: beige or black. It depends on what I am wearing. More often than not, I use black. I do have a green one I use on rare occasion. It is so dark though that people think it is black.

I don't much care what brand it is, I like my purses to be simple and unobtrusive. They tend to be small. Sometimes I use a clutch sometimes a regular purse. I don't carry a lot, if I am carrying a lot I have a briefcase. If I have a briefcase, I don't normally have my purse. I just put a little clutch inside my briefcase to grab if I need it. Same if I have my laptop.

Of course, I also want the purse to be well made. It is always made of leather. Most often though, my mom gets them for me. My mom is probably Purse Junkie's sock. She has like 30 purses, and is always trying to pawn them off on me.Back to top

She didn't. Weren't you paying attention? Greece is not the birthplace of democracy, it is the birthplace of anal sex. That is why they say you should beware of Greeks bearing gifts. When greeks say they have a gift for you, they usually mean anal. Greece was, according to Greeks, the birthplace of democratic ideals--like anal sex--but not the birthplace of democracy per se. According to unreliable legend, democracy was actually one of Thomas Edisons many inventions. After a christmas party involving some copious and vigorous "gift giving" by Mr. Edisonadapoulous ("Edison") to his favorite employees someone suggested that fairness dictated that they should vote on one person to receive the gifts and the rest of them should eat cranberry stuffing. They usually don't teach you that in schools because most schools are afraid to talk openly about vigorous anal to young children--unless it's a catholic school.Back to top

You're all crazy. Of course the LV clutch is not office-bound or practical in the least, but it's kicky and fun! Kicky and fun...say it! *laugh* You can dress it up or dress it down. You can stuff it full of toilet paper and use it as a pillow at 3 am when you haul your inebriated ass in to a bus stop and realize you can go no further.

You can't put a price on that kind of utility.

How many scrotums (scrota?) would it take to make a handbag big enough to fit the wallet, the sunglasses, and the cell phone? I would think you'd need to fuse 2 layers together to produce a reasonable level of durability.

You're right. I was not clear. I am questing for an all-purpose handbag, and, in said search, I was hoping to enlist the help of posters far wiser than I (and, apparently, susceptible to some ass-kissing). However, I am also lusting after the LV clutch (that no one else on the planet likes but me).

Sorry for the confusion. I'll endeavor to be clearer in the future.
