I thought the AWOL stories only started getting ink in real newspapers after Bush's commanding officer (with the memorable name of Colonel Turnipseed) noted that he didn't remember ever seeing Bush. Which seems a pretty decent piece of evidence.
OTOH, it could just be all that liberal media bias again. After all, it's not like there are any conservative media channels that would be able to publish a credible story about Kerry having an affair with an intern. And the fact that we're discussing it here only proves that the story has not seen the light of day.
