I thought the Yoko Ono comment was much better, "The shameless, atonal publicity hag and lawsuit machine grows more frightening with age." Priceless.

Though I'm not sure why she didn't rank higher than #46. My god, there are only 4 vile New Yorkers less vile than her?

Thanks, indeed -- now I know that fringey is a guy. And that there is a band called Toronto. (note to gwnc and str8-outa: what about Triumph?)

And you disprove your rule by the exception. I love all kinds of women (but I prefer interesting looking women over bland blondes). Do you mean to imply that all blondes are vacuous barbie dolls? If I didn't know better, I'd start to think you were a hater.

That would be hard since my wife is blonde.

There are bland blondes and there are interesting looking blondes. The blonde you said was hot looked like the type of blonde that is consciously trying to achieve the barbie look. Those blondes are bland to me. Hmmmm. Sounds like a good new descriptive name. Blandes. I like it.

Maybe you can think of it in terms of something else. This may be a bad analogy, but think of it in terms of ice cream. I like all kinds of ice cream, but I like some better than others. Given the choice between chocolate, vanilla or strawberry, I'd generally choose strawberry. I like them all, so sometimes, I'll buy Neapolitan Ice cream, so I can have some of each. Usually, the strawberry is consumed before the other flavors, but it doesn't mean I don't appreciate the others or throw the carton out once the strawberry is gone, it just means I have a preference for one flavor over another. That said, all of them are good.

Yeah. I've heard that analogy before somewhere...

Ice Cream

[Beginning]
Watch these rap niggaz get all up in your guts
French-vanilla, butter-pecan, chocolate-deluxe
Even caramel sundaes is gettin touched
And scooped in my ice cream truck, Wu tears it up
(The ice cream man is coming!)

[End]
One love to my chocolate deluxes, keep your nails done
and your wigs tight, word up
One love to my butter-pecan Ricans for calling me papi
That's for real
One love to caramel sundaes, with the cherries on top
Yeah
And big up to my french vanillas
Parlez vous, francais, mi amor, merci, oui oui, bon bons
and all that good stuff

This may be the snarkiest piece of writing ever.

These are my particular favorites:

"When the Strokes wormed their way into the pop charts, US Weekly and Drew Barrymore’s well-worn snatch . . ."

"Nas and Jay-Z, Rappers: These endlessly feuding rappers should be merged to form one, giant, illiterate organism called Notorious S.U.C.K."

No. More because you seem to channel songs constantly based upon the contents of other people's posts.

It's only what people think is your favorite word if Miss Texas actually considers herself a celebrity.

Your-purported-favorite-word-ically, she probably does. Maybe she was implicitly distinguishing between major or national celebrities (such as Michael Moore?) and minor or merely regional/state celebrities such as herself. In this case, if she were to win the pageant, she would be barred from speaking about the war again. Or perhaps her intended distinction was between ugly celebrities (Michael Moore, definitely, and perhaps Janeane Garofolo*) and, ahem, pretty celebrities. This seems more likely.

R P

* I do not mean to suggest that I think Janeane G. is ugly, but that Miss Texas might.

It's only what people think is your favorite word if Miss Texas actually considers herself a celebrity.

Puppy, you are right on the mark. This issue was debated last night, and it was determined that, unlike an actor, who does something (acting) and only becomes a celebrity when he or she becomes famous for doing that something, someone like Miss Texas is a celebrity by virtue of the fact that she does nothing other than seek celebrity status. There is nothing backing up her celebrity-ness. Whether she is an accomplished celebrity is certainly debatable, I concede that. But I would argue that she is, in fact, some type of celebrity, making her remarks coincidental, I mean, um . . . whatever.

Someone else wached "EdTV" last night. It was especially, um, coincidental, that Moore was part of the panel in that scene.

Does anybody else have a problem viewing the posts that follow those that contain pictures? Kelly Osbourne's motherjumpin huge head has blocked out virtually everything else on the screen, including Betty Boop's huge head.

I would not be surprised if I were alone, as the system I use during the day is not terribly conducive to this sort of thing. (No IM, no streaming audio or video, no fun.)
