Somebody else is pushing the idea, Arnie was just asked what he thought (and treated to those clips from Demolition Man that I've thought of once or twice since he became the Gubernator). He gave the right answer - "I've got enough on my plate, haven't even thought about it myself, but, yeah, immigrants have done a lot for this country and have been great public servants and it seems like a fair idea to me." He did come up with Kissinger and Albright as examples pretty damn quickly, but it came off as uncontrived.
Russert softballed him, but also clearly really liked him. And Arnie didn't really leave himself open to easy attack - the willingness to say, without excuse "oh, yeah, that was a mistake" does take the wind out of a potential interlocutor's sails. I imagine that next time he's on, though, he'll get some tougher treatment now that he's shown he can basically handle himself. But he did well overall. He looked a bit over-Botoxed, but otherwise fine.
