We haven't irritated the men with a makeup discussion in quite some time, so, please, brand suggestions for the woman who hasn't worn makeup since junior high.
Thank you.

There are many "extended wear" lipsticks that you can try. The only problem is, is that they tend to have a "dry" look - no sheen. Some of them can be quite durable when tested on wine glasses. I've tried the L'Oreal, Revlon and Almay. All are very similar in their wearability with a slight lead going to L'Oreal. But the problem is that it usually requires the use of a gloss on top to keep it from looking cakey over time. Try a clear gloss stick-like product (I use a Clinique version). The clear comes off first without the color underneath coming off (until you eat - then all bets are off).
Another hint - one that I've kept closely guarded until now - given to me by some college age girls - is to use the lip pencil as your base - not just for outline - the whole lip - both of them. That shit is durable as hell depending on the brand you use (try clinique, chanel or Estee Lauder) and then light gloss over top.
eta, not so closely guarded secret and ditto on the MAC - it rocks.
