Have to agree with TM, Coltrane et al. that this is either a line or the guy has some problem performing regardless... "Performing" with a condom is not the problem, though getting to the "grand finale" may be due to the reduced sensitivity.
As for the other sock issue, I'm pretty picky clotheswise and buy (and launder) all of my own stuff. Mrs. Hand makes occasional suggestions, but that's it. Quite frankly, and she would agree, I'm the clotheshorse of the family and if there's someone likely to keep some article of clothing well past its lifespan, it's her...
