I remember after the first idol there were all sorts of reports about how locked up they have those kids. The final two from both seasons got contracts at RCA records and affiliates (though Justin was just dropped) through AI and I'm sure AI is getting a hefty percentage. And I think the finalists were optioned. That is based on recollections of that stupid tour that they ran where all of the finalists were locked into performing whether they wanted to or not.
Clay's money goes to AI. William Hung's? Maybe, maybe not.
