Boy, you are like the living embodiment of how people with power start getting freaky and abusive.
I'd rather that announcements from mods / admins come from posters than someone using an alternate login. Mainly because the alternate login sort of feels (to me) too anonymous and sock for the man-y. When you bitch about Slave's pronouncement, you know who you're talking to and it adds to whatever good or ill will you associate with him as Slave the poster. With some login that's rarely used, you don't really get a sense of who is behind the avatar. It's just a pronouncement from on high. Also, one of us, generally, is around, so you can flag us down with problems, like the PM thing, paigow's avatar issue, etc. We as admins have relative strengths and weaknesses, and ya'll have a general idea of what they are. MR with the tech stuff. Slave is amazing at getting people together and moving forward.

There's also the pain in the ass factor of remembering the admin logon password, etc, which doesn't impact you at all, but is, er, a pain in the ass for the four of us.

Anyhow, I'd like to think of myself as an approachable admin who is flexible, and this is a "this is sort of how I see it" post instead of a "this is what we're going to do" post. The line between admin and regular poster gets fuzzy in these types of posts.

ETA: Plus everything that MR said, much more logically and less touchy feely.
