Four months. Off and on. For me, the casual sex thing only worked if I was actually interested in someone else who was unavailable for one reason or another. If I was totally unattached and not interested enough in the casual sex guy to want it to turn into a relationship, I eventually would get sick enough of him to call it quits anyway. I think 4-6 months is the max I can drag out new person lust without making some sort of yea or nay judgment on personality, etc.
