It wasn't loyalty to Tony that made the decision, it was like Henry Hill said at the end of Goodfellas, the fucked thing is having to be a regular guy- you know that was going through Chris' head watching that dad cart his mess around. (although they couldn't have kids- right?).
Plus, her drug problem and really the FBI problem were Chris' fault. It's like Days of Wine and Roses, but with a quicker ending.

It was fun -- although I disagree with mr.dangerfield (I know -- you all are shocked. Shocked!) about the interest-piquing level of the Adriana subplot. I think she's great. (RIP) The FBI really had her between a rock and a hard place. She didn't want to be a rat -- I think she would have been happy living the mob life with Chris, had it not been for Danielle (Fairuza Balk, we hardly knew ye). She was just so hosed. I thought it was a nice touch that the FBI agent wanted to delude herself that Adriana had gone on the lam.
