The problem is your generalizations are broader than even Sebby's foul truths.

If you stay four-five years at a firm, then moving means you've been asked to move, because they don't want to waste time with you on the partnership track.

If you wait 6-7 years, well, then it's because you were definitely passed over for partner.

And if you're leaving as a partner, it's assuredly because you were ass-fucking the wrong paralegal.

So, no matter what, regardless of what firm you're leaving you must be a sorry-ass retread in your book.

Yet, oddly, plenty of firms are making the same mistake again and again. Curious how they stay in business.

And don't even begin to speculate how companies hiring these worn-out retreads for inside positions manage to survive. The government, of course, is easy to explain.
Nice post hoc, but no. I didnt generalize but stated the premise that its better to be at a place three or four years or whatnot than two. then i stated possible scenarios.

and i certainly didnt say anything about how it must be hard to stay in busines doing that , or that that has anything to do with what I was saying at all. though I will say that probalbyjmore firms than not out there are shitty places to work teaming with shitty lawyers. \

disagree with that Mister I Cannot Be Wrong Ever So I will Distonre Contexts and Put WOrds In Peoples Mouths So As TO Seem Right When Really The Only One I am Fooling Is Myslelf and Maybe A Couple of Shitty Lawuyrs At Shitty Law Firms Who Lurk But Dont Post.

Last word is all yours serve it up.
