Phil inherited a seasoned Jordan. And Kobe was way too young for Phil's predecessor to do anything with.

The point is, he didn't develop their talent and hone them into championship players. They were on the doorstep when he walked in the door.

The most credit I can give him is for not fucking things up. But that's like signing on now as Tom Cruise's agent and getting him a $20 MM payday for his next flick. Wow. Great work.
