I can't speak for the current incarnation of the Spin Doctors (although they did put on a good show in their prime), but a Cowboy Mouth concert is a thing to behold at least once in your life. Fred LeBlanc is the only guy I've seen who can work a breakdown and "clap your hands"-type patter into every single song in the set and actually make even jaded concert-goers like me actually want to do it. Their music is highly forgettable and no one in the civilized world needs to actually own a Cowboy Mouth album, but seeing the live show is worth the $5 or whatever it must cost to get into an event as illustrious as "Rib Fest."

Actually, I think Rib Fest is free. The ribs costs about $25 per, but you can walk in and enjoy music without paying a dime. I saw Cowboy Mouth once in my life, so I have apparently met the minimum requirement for this show. I was not a big fan of the music, but the dude with the really loud drums does put on a show.

I actually got dragged to this show once. I think someone convinced me that the place would be packed with nubile spinning hippie chicks. All I remember is being in a sea of 22 year old, backwards cap-wearing, recently ex-frat guys. I cannot even begin to convey the depth of disappointment that I felt.
