I also liked how the grown ups, with the exception of Lupin, were shoved aside and the tale was really from the kids' pov. I didn't realize until this film how much Columbus concentrated on the adult actors in the movie.

There's a different director for Goblet of Fire. (I forget his name.) I liked it very much -- my only quibble is that it sort of seemed like flashes from the book instead of a coherent story. I suppose, however, that it's a failure to do the impossible: condense a book full of detail and clues into a two-hour movie.
I was a bit disappointed not to see more of Dumbledore, Trelawney and Snape; and the Trelawney prophesy seemed like an afterthought, which is odd given that it's rather a critical part of the story.
Nonetheless, I did enjoy it, and I thought the dementors were perfect.
