I'm interviewing with the criminal section of the main U.S. Attorney's office in LA soon, and would appreciate any pointers, tips, thoughts, suggestions, or general kibbitzing. I would be moving to the area from somewhere else (albeit a somewhere else with relatively expensive housing costs), so I would appreciate any and all thoughts about that as well. TIA.

A friend is looking to move to LA, and is seeking information about QOL, partnership prospects, etc. for transactional types at Orrick and Paul Hastings. Anyone have any info on these firms?
