A little help here...
Thank you Seven of Nine! Not sure how an in-house type can bring in enough patent pros work to make partner,... but whatever.

For biotech patent prosecution, Heller Ehrman would likely be the better choice. Ginger Dreger just joined the firm, and brought with her hoards of work from Genentech, Applied Biosystems, and a few other Biotech heavy hitters. Ginger used to work in-house at Genentech, and gets a big pipeline of work.

Ex-in-house guys are great sources of work. If they left on good terms, they often are guaranteed a bunch of work from their former company. Also, they often have great relationships with the in-house folks from other firms.

ok, I'll go ahead and remove Townsend now... they actually suck quite a bit. Inflated prices, borderline lunatics, subpar work, do any of you in-house types still use them for prosecution?

How about Knobbe? Are they still billing themselves as a lifestyle firm? Do they even have a real office in SF?
