The problem is not so much Trump as all of the conservatives willing to support him blindly. If they drop him, he is a spent force. In the trial what is the supposed test?

Like say the House says "we think he did X. So impeachment."

does a senator vote "X was proven so he is out?" Or can a senator say, "X doesn't matter?"

I mean what is em supposed to do as set forth in any rule. I understand a judge can decide however they want.

To the contrary, if we cannot even be sure that we will be left with a functioning country by the time Trump leaves office (for whatever reason), I think right now is exactly the time for us to start sucking each other's dicks.

Ummm, for 20 years some bikers that lived across the street from my childhood home flew a Stars and Bars. i visited the 'rents pretty regular, knew they were there. What's changed is that, in the past, the President wouldn't think the bikers and my parents were equally good patriotic people.

One thing I'd like to see enacted once we get to a functioning White House/Congress- "The President cannot post anything on social media without sign off of two cabinet members, and the chance to sleep it off."

Off my corner. (But I'd phrase it a bit differently. "We will still have to live with the economic and social problems that assisted in causing him, because most of us doing alright don't like the economic solutions we know we'd have to apply to address those problems.")
