Did you see the article in
the New England Journal of Medicine this week that said it doesn't matter which diet you're on? You lose weight so long as calories are restricted, not any particular type of calorie. They compared diets that focused on proteins, fats and carbs, and it doesn't really matter which you're on so long as the calories are reduced.
